Peer Assistance and Leadership (PALS)

The Peer Assistance and Leadership (PALS) program matches HHS junior and senior students with younger students who principals and teachers feel would benefit from extra attention. Similar to a big brother/big sister program, the older students spend recreational time with elementary and intermediate school students Monday through Thursday. On Fridays they discuss their experience during the week or participate in other service projects. PALS occasionally works with the high school’s life skills class as well.

PALS is beneficial for both the older and younger students. The younger children receive extra attention that can help improve behavior and academics, and the older students learn responsibility and how to give to others.

Students must submit an application and go through a screening process to participate.
